Great striper fishing today on the lower Delaware Bay on the Hooked Up II! We ran a fun trip today with mates Vinnie and Ray and their neighbor Bill. We only fished for 4 hours maximum as we were only able to get 12 fresh bunker late last night but ended up with 9 nice stripers of which we kept 5 for the table and released the rest. All of the released ones were over 42 inches and bigger as they all were quality fish but we felt we had more than enough meat with the 5 we kept. This was our first striper trip of the season and last year we caught our first striper over 45 inches on November 9th so things seem to be right on schedule. We are running our first 8 hour charter tomorrow and after November 19th we have plenty of good dates available in November and December for striper trips. Right now it seems the chunk bite is red hot as I saw quite a few stripers well over 30 lbs come back to the dock at our marina so if you want a chance at large trophy stripers, now is the time. Watch the Bass Barn for upcoming open boat trips for singles and small parties who want to target trophy size stripers in the 20-50 lb plus range. Overall just a great few hours of striper fishing today and one fine way to start our fall season, especially after the weather we have had the last few weeks
