Striper Fishing Report For Sunday April 28, 2013

Slow is the best way to describe the striper fishing this past Sunday. We fished to the north, up the bay and did have a few decent runoffs that probably were stripers but that was about it for the trip. We did get fresh bunker so having quality bait was not the problem. The bites we did have were just light taps on smaller chunks so it seems either the stripers were small or just very finicky.

We have rescheduled all our regular charters this spring and Sunday’s trip was one of them that was originally were for early April. We have also held off running any open boat striper trips until we know for sure the fish are within range and there is decent chance to put a catch together. At this time it seems the stripers are still way up the bay but should be starting to come back down to the lower bay on their annual late spring migration after they are done spawning.

Our next scheduled charter is for this coming Friday and we plan on making the long run up the bay targeting trophy size stripers. If the bite should turn on locally we will put some last minute open boat trips together here and The Bass Barn.

We will also start running offshore in a few weeks for tuna or Mako sharks plus we are available for spring Black Drum starting any time now!  Contact us to schedule your trip soon!

Don’t forget….We are running an overnight offshore special right now.  Information can be found in our offshore trips section of the webpage!
