Striper Report for Saturday December 14, 2013 On the Delaware Bay

We ran up to what I call the mid-bay and started over on the Delaware side but only managed one keeper at this location and then moved over to the NJ side approximately half way through the outgoing tide. We finished the day on the NJ side and ended up with 4 keepers along with a number bites which were mainly shorts. Not another boat within 6-8 miles of us and overall not a bad chunking trip on the Delaware Bay with frozen Bunker that we got from Off the Hook. The frozen bunker was very good quality considering it was frozen and we constantly had bites throughout most of the trip unfortunately most were shorts. Again as in all our recent past trip chunking all the stripers regardless of their size were loaded with Sea Lice.

I have not yet called it a season as we will go when the weather allows right up through the holidays if there are fish around and I am waiting to hear if there was any stripers caught trolling or jigging off the beach today. I had heard of stripers being caught earlier this week but few boats fished with the cold and windy weather we have been having lately in South Jersey.

Contact Capt John if you are interested in joining us for some late season striper fishing as the temperatures are forecasted to be in the 50’s by next weekend Dec 20,21,22 and if so we will probably put at least one open boat trip together targeting stripers.
